i am heading to the dealer tommorow to pick up my bags and i am going to ride. does anybody know how long it took them to put the bags on and if they needed any special tools. i am going over on a ferry and will be putting them on myself in there parking lot, want to be prepared. | ||

Very easy. Helped M2nc install his, took all of 30 minutes with only a few hand tools. As easy an installation as I ever performed. | ||

From an earlier post... You'll need the following for installation. -Ratchet with 3/8" socket -7/16" open end -Rubbing alcohol to install reflectors -Torque wrench if so inclined -T27 torx head Installation time: 30 minutes. | ||

Got my bags today and installation was very straightforward. I found the above list and time to be accurate, except for the fact that I required a 1/2 inch open end wrench, rather than a 7/16. Go figure. | ||

mine were a pain in the a?? not a hard job but none of the hardware lined up i had to muscle everythinhg in place. but all done bags look great and no more bungies woohooo | ||

Installed my bags yesterday. It was a PIA. None of the holes lined up with the brackets. Had to go as far as loosening the bolts of the rear tail section and redrill a hole in the lower footpeg bracket on the rt side. Even wound up having to retap a hole that I got the bolt started in at an angle. I didn't even try the top box for now. Had enough "fun" with the side bags for the day. | ||

Wow none of the holes lined up!? That sounds highly unusual. I had to finesse the right side bracket a bit but nothing like you describe. DAve | ||

I ordered one of the early sets (August). They bolted right up perfectly. I hope the Buell folks are watching this. Sounds like something got out of tolerance recently. | ||

I have installed three sets. The first was a pain until I loosened the three screws holding the passenger peg support. On the second set I did the same, but installed and started all the screws and bolts on both sides, keeping them loose. Then on one side at a time I removed each bolt applied red locktite and tightened them one side at a time. Then did the other side the same. Remember the three you loosened on each side need locktite also as the final step. On the third set the whole process took about 30 min, ,,, Terry | ||

Wish I had thought of loosening the footpeg support. Guess I kind of did the same thing by looking the tail section so I could get the screws started. I'd say there is a manuf tolerance problem somewhere. | ||

Got my bags and tour pack today. Order the set on 10-05-05. Got home at 3:00 and they were all installed by 4:15. Just to let everyone know the right side bracket did not fit correctly like some others have said. Isn't it funny how the instructions say it will be better to start with the left side. Had to loosen the right side foot peg bracket to get it installed. Took it out for a test ride with all the bags on and empty. No changes in handling up to 95 MPH.
