Chad, The dealer is supposed to check/adjust the headlights as part of the set up. |

If they did, they must have had a 500lb dude on the bike when they did it. My 225lb frame onboard the bike was casting the beam maybe 10 fee in front of the bike. I couldn't see squat. I adjusted them myself, and they are fine now. Everything else on the bike seems fine. I checked the TPS, oil level, etc, and all was fine. Bike runs great. |

Technically, you shouldn't have any issues, but I seem to recall reading somewhere (can't remember where...old man's disease), that the reason Buell only lights up one light at a time is to reduce heat in the headlight housing. Wiring or switch might be the weak point as well. Not sure about the Uly, but I've seen some kits for cars that use relays to do the same gig, but more safely. |

I just installed 100 watt bulbs tonight and will try them out at 0 dark thirty tomorrow morning. When I had the housing out to switch the bulbs, I noticed a small cable and socket in the middle between the two reflectors. Anyone know what that is? |

A Buell dealership would do that. I had to adjust mine myself too but I got my XB12X at a Harley-Davidson dealership. DAve |

Chalk up two more Uly's with the severely low, totally unchecked prior to delivery, somewhat dangerous headlight syndrome. Got the bikes at a great price from A Buell/HD dealer that delivered them to my door 200+ miles away at no extra charge, but if that was supposed to be part of a pre-delivery set-up, they missed the boat altogether. Oh well, awesome bike nonetheless! |

Dmcutter, It's the front position lamp holder (parking light) for the European model. Five watt bulb only. All others on this thread, it is obvious that the small headlights with brush guards were more a styling exercise than a functional piece of equipment. Maybe with the profits from the increase sale of Buells, Erik will hire a lighting engineer. |

Not so unfunctional with the 100 watt bulbs...I adjusted mine too high last night so the high beam is too high, but the low beam with the higher output bulb was outstanding on this morning's commute. |

They're good. I got mine from a sport bike place, hardracing.com for $35 a pair. The package says 10 yr warranty; I had seen a previous post where someone said they only last a year. Easy enough to install, just take off the fairing and take out the 3 torx adjusting screws and the whole housing pops right out. |

Whatcha doin hanging out here? Getting the hankering for a Buell? Getting? Got! Been working too much. Took an hour off to test ride the Uly. Let me get this straight, it's cheaper, it's more fun to ride, it's cheaper to maintain...hmm... We'll see. |

The PDI (New Bike Set-up) shows a different aiming height for the ULY. They are aimed the same as other H-D models all the other XB's are aimed lower. So if the Tech didn't ??? ... Terry |
