I just had the 1000 mile service yesterday and the Uly is running better than ever.
They had to reset TPS, adjust timing(slightly advanced) and Primary chain.
I went ahead with synthetic oil too.

I had one question though after I got home, the chart shows SYN3 x 4 and no Formula +. I am assuming they didn't use the right Primary fluid.
Will this make a difference for one time?

It hasn't for me.

If you notice anything at all, it may just be a little tighter on the clutch lever. I read that the F+ was part of the solution to the heavy clutch pull of earlier XBs. I would definitely not worry about it. At your next service, it would be interesting to put F+ in and see if there is a noticeable difference. I could see a spring scale employed for that purpose.

I would think the clutch lever effort required would be the same for both as this is a function of the clutch springs? The fluid would make a difference in whether the clutch would slip or not wouldn't it?

I think what I read said that the clutch pull reduction was addressed by combination of changes and that the Formula+ was an integral part of the overall design. I am no expert and I wish I could remember where I read it, but regardless, Sport-Trans is a proven product. I would not worry about it at all.

I knew we had discussed this before.

Right on. The OM is full of useless suggestions like fluids, tire pressures, and crap like that.

I called the service guy and he says he used Formula + but just put down 4 Quarts of Syn3 on the chart. I guess I will chance it this time and see if there is a difference when I do it myself next time with the Formula +.
