well bammmmmm I got the drummer on today.!!!!! First of install took an hour, I didn't have to take of the tensioner or loosen the axel i just found there was enough room, when it came to putting it back on a slid the rear clamps down to the left so you can get at the easier. Man this thing kicks, not to loud of idle but plenty loud once you wind it up. I found a more smoother power band more power down low, engine runs cooler and it's bad ! hehe clay you'll love yours!

thanks Kevin you rock!

Doing nothing else, how much hp and torque does the drummer bring to the table for the ULY? Do you also have to buy a Power Commander? How loud is it in decibels?

u I dunno I will be dynoing mine sometime soon, but there is a noticable difference, i'm running the stock ECM and filter no prob (remeber the uly ECm is tunned for more low end torque) and it is about as loud as, um well it's loud but not annoying

Hell with the webcam. Let's put a live cable TV hook up in Kevin's shop. Then between muffler production runs, Kevin can show those high paid TV chopper dweebs how to mount a rear fender without drilling through the rear tire! You will not drill into the tire will you Kevin?

I got the first drummer Kevin built for the Uly. Excellent product; excellent customer service and even follow-up calls to see how I liked it! The sound and power are awesome!

Yes Kevin, let's get that back log caught up. Meanwhile I will keep working and paying bills and then watch out as I will be adding to your new back log. Maybe you will have the NEW SLAYER SERIES out by then! I got to tell you, I am impressed by what you are doing and I pick and chose what I am impressed by!

Buell claims 100hp at the crank (actually 103hp IIRC). Makes you wonder how we're losing 23hp. Aren't belts supposed to be as efficient as chains (maybe more so)?

These numbers are, of course, with an aftermarket performance add on. So I could easily assume that my bike is only putting about 75hp and 65lb/ft.

Someone else had posted dyno numbers, Terry the dyno guy? His numbers were substantially higher, as were the Cycle world numbers on a preproduction bike, weren't they?

CW tested it at 83.7 hp @ 6800 rpm/ 68.9 lb ft tq @ 5000 rpm; while Roadracing World tested the bike they had at 83.2 hp @ 6800 rpm/ 68.4 lb ft tq @ 5000 rpm. I know that the numbers can vary greatly depending on what type of dyno is used, so the numbers can vary from test to test. CW didn't list what type of dyno they used but RRW used a Dynojet Model 250.

We have DJ 250 that is well maintained. 103 at the crank could very easily vary between 75 to 90 at the rear wheel. Differences such as gear selection, tire size and pressure make a big difference, Technic is also important thats why we run WinPep 7 and automate our run starts and stops. We re-ran mine the other day and it repeated within an acceptable tolerance at 88 to 89 hp I don't remember the TQ. As a rule good tuners understand that you can't compare dynos unless the are right next to each other, but you should be able to compare runs made on the same dyno during the same time of the year. ... You guys are right it's not about the numbers, it's about the kick in the pants and how smooth the throttle transitions are. But when they are right the number will always be good. ... Terry

Madsx - I dunno about the elf thing. If Mike doesn't get me the parts, I'll feel more like the Grinch. They lost power in NC this week due to a bad ice storm. Kevin still didn't have power on Friday morning when I spoke to him.

Sorry to hear that. It must be frustrating trying to run a business with so little time and BAM! No Power. Well, I want to thank all you guys for making parts for us. Have a Happy Holiday Season with or without power!
