They will be shipping yours soon since I got mine last week. Things did not go as smoothly as I had hoped. First of all, even though I got the plus 6 inch windshield my opinion is that it is still undersized by 6 inches of height and 4 inches of width. I'm 5'10" and it only comes up to my neck. The real problem came with the mounting/attachment system. I could not get the little plastic and rubber mounting posts into the new windshield(holes just a little too small). After struggling for a long time,heating the things in water and using dish detergent I was able to get them in by pushing on the button side and pulling from the post side. Unfortunately, I also managed to stretch the little plastic posts so they are now too long and my windshield is no longer firmly held in place. It is floppy and can be jiggled back and forth with a finger. Not good. I am planning to get rid of the plastic posts altogether at this point and just bolt the windshield to the windscreen. This winter I may take the whole thing off, drill some new holes and move the windshield up a couple more inches. It will really look like crap by then but maybe I can hide the holes, rivets and bolt heads with some spray paint and black duct tape. Lovely! | ||

If the screen comes up to your neck, that seems too tall. That leaves your head sticking out in the fastest moving dirty air coming over the screen. The way to get a smooth, quiet, buffet free ride is to go without a windscreen. This typically gives you "gorilla arms" after you get up to 70mph or so. To combat that, you want to get a screen that takes some of the windblast off your lower torso so it won't act like a big parachute. Wind hitting you mid chest should allow you to lean into the wind, and your head be in the nice smooth flow, not the dirty air coming over the screen. That will be hitting your chest, which you shouldn't really notice much. I discovered after buying every barn door windscreen made, the ride was actually more comfortable with a very small screen. The Uly seems to be just right for my 6'5" frame. I like Cee Bailey's products. I had one of their screens on my BMW RT and tried one on my GS too. Then I discovered the beauty of the wind hitting you. Nice and smooth. My unfaired Ducati with nothing but a small fly screen is actually quieter to ride than my FJR1300 was. A LOT less wind noise. | ||

I checked and the big Cee Bailey windshield comes up to the middle of my chest(sternum) so it should be OK height wise once I get it bolted on. I wish the windshield had come with a new set of higher quality attachment pegs pre-installed. Bienhoabob-if you have the same experience as me they are going to have to fine tune their design if they expect to sell any more of their windshields. | ||

How does this screen stay on at highway speeds? It looks like the wind would produce a lot of leverage against the four little stock mounts. | ||

Good call, Chad. My last bike was a Suzuki AN650 (scooter). It not only had the most protection against the elements that I've ever encountered - it had (by far) the most wind noise. The windshield was just high enough to create massive turbulence all around my head. I ended up getting a Clearview XXL, and looking through the shield, until I figured out how to angle it back. After I did that, the top of the shield was right at eye level and the wind went barely over my helmet. It seems that you have to get the wind to hit you either below the neck or over your head, to be comfortable. I suspect that I'll be sticking with the stocker until I hear lots of positive reviews. I received my Ceebaileys 6" windshield this afternoon. I installed in about 10 minutes with no problems what-so-ever. I removed the OEM mounting plugs with a spark plug boot puller after masking off the OEM windshield to prevent scratches, put some liquid soap on the inside of the OEM plugs and pulled/pushed the OEM plugs onto the Ceebaileys windshield. I had none of the problems Javadog had. There is no play in the windshield mounts. I can't give a ride report at the moment. It started to drizzle here with the forecast changing to snow. Ceebaileys told me that they have tested the 6" over windshield up to speeds of 115 with no ill effects. I'm very happy with the product. Bob C. | ||

I've used hairspray to mount grips before. Goes on slick, and dries sticky. That might work for lubing up the mounting posts. | ||

Is it possible to just buy a new set of mounting posts? It seems that would make changing the shield on the bike easier than on my helmet.  Hi Chad! | ||

We seem to have two threads going on the CeeBaileys windshield. From the CeeBaileys windshield thread, the pins/plugs run $2.00 apiece, available though your local Harley dealer. | ||

From the "New Cee Baileys Windshield thread" Brad1445 " I was able to order pins today From Sun Harley in Denver for $2.00 a pin. I bought eight." Also Dave in Appleton can get them. So I'm assuming any Harley dealer can order them. These are the pins for the Ulysses. CeeBaileys windshield does not come with the mounting pins. | ||

Both Sun and Appleton are Buell (authorized) dealerships. I'm certain HD dealership cannot get Buell specific parts. DAve |
