Can the stock ULY muffler be opened up a bit for better flow and sound? I did this on my 97' Electraglide mufflers because the Screaming Eagles were too loud for my tastes. I just rammed a rod down through the mufflers and increased the hole by about double and that did the trick. Better gas mileage also. Oh yeah, my fuel injection compensated for the freer flowing muffs. | ||

Be advised that rides on government lands (dirt roads, fire roads and trails) often mean submitting to a sound check. If you're pavement only you can get away with a lot of noise in many places. Since I plan to do some adventure riding with my Uly I'm keeping it stock and quiet. Regards, Jim in Santa Barbara | ||

Here at H-D Buell of Vallejo we are working with "Flow Master" to develop both a race and street muffler for the XB's. The pipes are back at their R&D and I will have a timeline in a week or so. These guys are great at high flow slip-on mufflers. Their V&H look a like made just 1 HP less than the V&H but had a nice sweet sound without being too loud. … Terry | ||

Buelldyno_guy, Does the Flowmaster design maintain the jacking points and crash plate features of the stock pipe? |
