During my 1K service I noted on my work order that my tire contacts the nose fairing. Later that day we contacted "Tech Services" and was told that fix is on the way in mid December. It will be a new fairing with a little different contour right at the front. They think that it is fork flex and not the front mount/isolator allowing engine movement. However they did let me know that the ULY has a stiffer front isolator and it will be an up P/N change for all XB models. Earlier in the year, we were involved in a major crash with out XB Road Race Bike and following that we could not keep the front tire off the front of the belly pan during hard braking. In that case they agreed it most likely was the isolator/mount. They also stated that you should loosen the exhaust and try and move the muffler as far aft as possible since the fairing mounts to the muffler. Hope this helps ... Terry

Ah, I wonder if DAve is ready to change his earlier questioning of this being a "legit/reality or just speculation" issue? Hum DAve?

I actually responded to a Ulysses poll "Is this legit/reality or just speculation. I'm not seeing it @ 2500+ miles". Yous trying to call me out on something Dragon_slayer? : ) Ya misquote me (use partial quote) to make it sound like I said it didn't exist. Change my questioning? Hell no! : ) I always question what's reported on the web.

Do I think it's legit? Apparently so. Have I seen pictures of the rub mark yet or experienced it? Nope.

...now let me tell ya about a horn rattle, slippery pegs, mal-placed speedo cable, a seat rubbing on the rear rocker cover, a bike that draws a "rider" crowd, and the best motorcycle I've ever ridden two up!

Well I decided that instead of waiting for the "Factory Fix", I could better solve the interference issue with a Drummer SS and no chin fairing. With that in mind, I am now pleading with all present forum members to contribute one dollar or more to the Get Slayer a New Drummer SS Fund.

Every XB I have ever ridden as a demo has had those marks?
I always thought they were just from me never riding wheelies?

Just look at it like chicken strips on tires. The bigger your scuff is, the more fun you've been having. : )

It's a Buell badge of honor.
