OK, so this may seem like a silly question to some of you but this is my first twin so be nice . After the bike has warmed up and the idle settles down, when stopped I hear a sound that I can best describe as a couple of palm sized stones being gently shaken in a small card board box. Kind of a hollow knocking sound, it may be rhythmic but I haven't really analyzed it that much... does anyone have an idea what is making that sound? I don't think it is something wrong I am just curious 'cause I like to know how things work in addition to what my bike should normally sound like. |

Valve train noise. It's typical on Harleys and nothing to worry about. It did bother me a lot with my first Harley motor but I got used to it. BC Steve |

Thanks, that is what I thought it might be based on the type of sound it is... |

Might be a loosening primary chain. |
