Just received our latest bit of kit for the Uly : )
This replaces the stock plastic rear fender assembly and comes in 3mm aluminium, pre-drilled to accept the stock fasteners. It will accept the stock licence plate light and stock or aftermarket turn signals. I'd show a picture of it on the bike, but this is all I have of it at the moment : ( Price for these is UK£49 or approx US$85.

Oh, and here is a stock one

That looks awesome. Will it work with the bags? I know the bags have recesses in the rear to accommodate the blinkers. If not, I suppose blinkers could be mounted in those recesses. Also, where did you hide the keyhole for the seat lock?

The seat lock re-locates underneath to keep it looking simple.

As far as I know it should work with the bags, as it just replaces the stock black plastic pieces and nothing structural.

I dunno about that but I've already broken the POS number plate light shroud, it's bolted to the fender but the cover is two very thin screws, I only knocked it with a sleeping bag and it fell off! Not sure if the USA Ulies are similar or just something for Oz compliance, I'm going to try washers to put it back on, check yours before you break it!

I really like the idea but it looks like you could
shorten the license plate mounting surface by about half for the small plates used in the US.
Also, would it be possible to annodize on either a black or a light gold colored coating to better match the tail section?

The plate carrier could easily be cut to suit a smaller plate, although you would have to do that. As we sell worldwide we couldn't make all the different sizes necessary to suit every nation's licence plates unfortunately.

Powder coating black wouldn't be a problem but would add to the price. Matching the gold colour on the tail piece is notoriously difficult though. The idea of leaving it plain is that it is pretty cheap and can be cut/coloured to whatever finish you want for your particular bike.
