I hadn't ridden the ZX-10 since picking up the Uly earlier in the week, so I thought I would take it out for a spin. I couldn't believe how high the pegs are, how low the bars are and how much weight is on my hands, and how much the tank hurts my bawls. The narrower bars take much more muscle to countersteer through a curve, and the suspension is not nearly as compliant (although I guess I could fiddle with the settings and get it there). The engine also feels so buzzy compared to the twin. The top end rush is cool, sure, but I haven't got the Uly broken in yet so I have no idea how the top feels, but I know it will be gratifying. Oh yeah, and the low fuel light came on at 122 miles into the tank. I'm converted-for the type of riding I do, the Uly trumps the Kawi. Removes any doubt about whether I need 2 bikes or not. |
