Is it just my Harley background that makes me gag when I see an Orange Uly, or are there people that actually like that color?? Granted, black is not great for dusty conditions, and shows all the scratches, but Orange?? What do the rest of you think?? (Message edited by FrankF on September 10, 2005) | ||

I got an orange one. Thought it looked better than the black one I saw. I like the contrast of the color against the rest of the bike which is a whole lotta black. | ||

That's easy - black. For ~250 you can buy a set of orange parts (sans seat) to have an orange one as well. I don't think it works as well in reverse. (Orange seat on a black bike doesn't do it for me.) | ||

Yellow seat? Hey maybe some professional grade leather /vinyl dye. Then again...may be like those black leather gloves the first few times you wear 'em in the rain! DAve | ||

Not being in any position to buy one till I sell my 883R and maybe grow two inches, it gives me a lot of time to think the color choice over. I LOVE all black but this bike has the character to carry the minimal color accents well. Saw a barricade orange one in person with a black seat. I thought that was a good compromise to balance the color. I don't agree with the orange designation though, but that's the marketers' job. I think that's more confusing. Some pics do give an orange hue like above but most lean toward a yellow. A good way to detect the orange though is when its side by side with a yellow Lightning. In person it resembled the yellow on road signs or the yellow center lines which I think is a nice touch for a bike meant to tear up the ground. Over all I think I'm leaning toward the Yello..er..Barricade Orange for it's uniqueness. Always fun when a color can spark the question, "Why do I like that color?" | ||

Got My Uly today. This bike is BIG! I have to remember how big it is at every stop. kinda like remembering to unclip my feet from the pedels on my Mt bike everytime I come to a stop. The Orange is really growing on me. People/cars notice it. I was going to get a black air box and wind screen but I might stick with the Orange?????? This bike is soo smooooth! I write some more about it in a few days, I'm going riding!  | ||

Congrats Two Buells!! I just finished putting all the stock parts on my 05 Pearl Yellow Road Glide. I'm trading it for a ORANGE Uly! Can't wait for the ULY! I have a 9R too, white tho... Enjoy the Uly, can't wait, maybe I'll have to do some more demo rides? At least I get to lead the demos in 2 weeks, I'll be ridin the dealer Uly then! | ||

Yep I like the orange flyscreen and airbox cover with the black seat like Eor has. Just enough orange to break up an otherwise dark bike. I have a deposit on an orange one that's due later this month. It may end up with a black seat if the stock one is too high :-) I wonder what a black bike with the orange seat would look like? | ||

I got a black one (first avail). I would have taken either!!! The black seat does have more options. I may get ORANGE...NOT yellow!!! and replace the airbox/flyscreen. Then again there WILL eventually be more color options! | ||

I'm thinking there will soon be lots of the Uly regular (too high) seats on the used seats after market. Maybe I'll pick up one of those cheap and use it as the basis for re-engineering my M2's seat. That new high tech foam and gel stuff may be the cure for leadbutt. When you Uly guys get tired of tripping over the too high seats you took off, email me. I might buy it. But not for $219, I'm a cheapskate, on a fixed income, etc., etc. :>  Jack |
