Reg, sorry. I just reread your post and saw it was a friend. I'd flip him off too.

Reep... I had a fear-frozen moment when I thought, "What if it's not..?"

Rubber... I'm too small a guy to go around flipping off random riders.

Rokoneer,

True, I just registered the other day, but I have been peekin' in here from time to time for several months now. I had to register in order to get in touch with you, so I did.

I could ride any bike in the H-D / Buell lineup. I ride (and own) a 2001 Cyclone. It's a bike I just have bonded with like no other bike. If you are familiar with Route 51 out of Ilion, I live 1/10th of a mile from there and many a night after dinner, I will roll through the gorge road on the M2 and just be totally in my element. So, I am not just a Harley dealer selling Buells. I ride one, own one and love it. I love nothing more than to take someone riding an Asian import and finish a test ride and wait for the look on their face after they take off the helmet. It's always "Wow, that's not what I expected! You never have to shift!"

Also true, someone other than me noticed your post first. It wasn't Court, but when you have time to stop in, I'll share that info with you.

Regkittrelle,
You're right. I know for every bad experience I hear about, there are ten more I don't know about. So, I always want to know about people's experiences both good and bad. Even the best teams make mistakes and the best teams also try to figure out how it all went wrong so next time they end up a winner instead of the loser. So, thanks for all the good ideas... they aren't falling on deaf ears.

Glad to see you here Steve!

I'm looking forward to meeting you in person and being able to talk all things Buell.

Yesterday was a decent day other than a little wind. Since the local dealer has ignored 2 email quote requests on a Uly, I decided to saddle up my M2 and take a ride to Reno.
Parked in front, took off my full face helmet and Joe Rocket textile jacket and went for a walk. Only 2 Buells stuck in-between the front entrance doors. An XB12R and XB12Ss. I stood around looking at them for a couple of minutes. The XB12Ss looked interesting but I think the peg position would be too tight for my old damaged knees. The salesmen were hanging out, chatting with each other. I walked through the show room and noted no other Buells but a load of HDs. I left after about 15 minutes without ever talking to a salesman.
I’ve been to this dealer several times over the years. I even bought a Sportster 883R from them about 3 years ago. I’m not a member of the do-rag, leather and tassel crowd and have felt out of place every time I’ve been there. My Buell looked out of place in the parking lot. If it wasn’t for the 2 Buells parked in the entrance you wouldn’t even know the place is a Buell dealership.
I’m not ragging on this dealer. I’m simply relating my experience yesterday at a “Buell” dealership. I’m fairly certain there is a Uly in my future but I’ll be getting it somewhere else.

I also had one of those experiences. Since I didn't
run immediately to the biggest fatboy wideglide dresser in the room that cost more than my car, and
didn't look like I had spent the night in jail, I was shunned by the entire sales staff at one dealership. After cornering one of the sales guys that had made a wrong turn and come into the same room as me, he also said I would be more interested in a V-Rod. Could it be that they had
price tags around $18K and would need all sorts of expensive clothing, accessories and service to go with it, compared to the Buell which would zip out of sight never to be heard from again?

Wow...

And I thought I was the only one. My local stealership just recently changed hands, but I still know a few people there. I had a '98 Road Glide that got totalled in 2003 that I used to get serviced there. I still get a friendly reception when I walk in, but when I ask about the Uly, I'm made to feel like I forgot to put on clean underwear or deodorant...

The funny part is that I had to show them why the seat wouldn't relatch, & that 'no, it doesn't do 160 just cuz the speedo says so'. But they still want list price!?! WTF?

UlyssesXB12X, I feel your pain. I'm just trying to find someone who wants to EARN my business in TX.

ttyl,
Glen

Well, I couldn't even get the HD/ Buell dealership in Dalton GA to correctly perfrom a tire change. I picked the rear wheel up and inspected it. No balance weights. Service writer tells me "buells don't needs balanced wheels" after I call the service manager I was told "your tire balanced perfect" I then sent an email to the dealership main manager and posted the same email onto there website chat board. Never recieved a response.

Thus when I comes time to buy another bike. It might be a new xb but you can damn well bet it will not be from that dealership. But by that time I'll be able to afford a used Confederate Hellcat.

Well, if you guys don't mind doing business from afar, I would be glad to help any of you onto a new XB and yes, earn your business.
I don't know why some of us sometimes come across as not being interested in earning your business. I can assure you we are one who does really want to earn Buell business. I own one myself, ride one myself and love to see people ride them. Once the first test ride is over, they're usually believers. Feel free to contact me with questions, etc.
