Has anyone that has ridden the Uly noticed heat on the right inside leg just above the ankle? This only occurs at about 60+ MPH. City riding is not a problem. |

I'm sure thats with any XB series. The way the header is placed, the wind carries the heat straight back, and there sits your ankle. |

My riding boots are so thick, no way I'd tell. |

Welcome to the XB's, my only problem with the heat used to be the heat coming up from the seat on the inside of the right leg. Ahhhh, what I wouldn't give to feel that right now. Tell us more about your new Uly. |

Thanks for welcoming me. I am glad to be here. I started a new post "Would you buy a Demo Uly?" in which I thanked you all for your input. My friend really wants one bad. Let's see... What can I say?... Hmmm. This is my first American made bike. I am not quite sure if it's a Harley or.... ? I am one of those people who never rode nor liked Harleys. But I love this bike. A lot. I fell in love with it's looks when doing research for my next bike. I grew up on dirt bikes. Raced them for a number of years. Then road lots street bikes. All Japanese and one BMW (my last bike.. K75). The Uly is by far the most fun bike I test drove when looking to buy a new bike. I tested ( Triumph Sprint ST, GS 1150, VFR 800, FJ1300, one other I can't seem to remember at the moment). Yes these cycles are categorized differently than the Uly is. However, my only category was to be able to ride two up for many many miles. The Uly fit the bill in spades and I love the looks of it. What really sold me on it was the smile on my girl's face. While we were out on the test ride she called the dealer and asked if we could take an extended ride. They said yes and we were off for two and half hours. Was great! She really wanted me to walk it through its paces. Although we couldn't find any dirt paths she did ask me to take it off some curbs. She giggled like a school girl. We also drove up a few railroad tracks. I thought this a bit too dangerous for my liking and got back on paved roads. The suspension is awesome! Always controlled when taking on big bumps. My girl explained that in all the years riding with me (there are many) she has never had that much fun and can't wait to find a logging road to go off roading. Oh.. She likes the highway ride too. Oh.. One more question? Any ideas on new pegs for the Uly? When I or her stand, our feet slip on the stock pegs. I think there is an accessory rubber peg you can get but our dealer has no pricing or pictures to share. Thanks for taking the time to read my post. |

Perhaps the best source for parts for your new ride is Daves, from one of our sponsors, Appleton HD. He is a True Blue Buelligan: You Call, he sends. That's all there is to it. Off Mondays. Phone number: 920 151 1651 While you are ordering your "Traction Pegs", if they have them yet for the ULY, I might suggest you order the Shop Manual and Parts list. |

Thanks for posting your impressions. I can't wait 'till mine gets in. I too was looking at the same "category" of bikes and was having a real hard time committing to one. Finally I just said "It's only money, if it doesn't work out I can always just sell it." Sat. I put down a deposit on a black Uly. So I am really glad to hear you are loving it. In addition I have to say congratulations on your choice of companionship... another bike can always be purchased but finding a girl that loves to ride as much as yours appearently does is awesome. Although I have to admit with three women in my house, I also appreciate the "alone time" that riding gives me.. |

*chimes in* My woman begs me to keep riding (Firebolt 12R), her only complaint to date was the seat is a bit uncumfy for long rides, but I can hear her laughing and giggling through two helmets. (hers, and mine) Planning on getting the touring pillion and perhaps the touring seat for myself once i take care of a few.. umm..citations? Awesome experience on your uly man, I'm truly considering trading-in / selling my 12r and getting the uly. I've always been more for adventure, than beating the street.. and adventure doesn require high speed... =/ Enjoy it man and welcome to the family... the EXTENDED family that is BadWeb.
