Has nothing to do with politically correctness... has to do with misleading information. Which, when I first read it I was like.. "Buell ran heavier flywheels?" ... Mislead. |

Seems like the lack of compression braking would be due to off-throttle fuel mapping more than anything else. Not to add fuel to the flywheel issue, but did anyone catch Kevin Cameron's TDC column where he showed how a flywheel with more mass can result in more peak horsepower? Pretty interesting stuff. |

Djkaplan has a point. I seem to remember reading that the FI is programmed to feed in a small amount of fuel when coasting with throttle closed, I guess, to enable smoother on-throttle transitions. If this is the case then that would contribute to the engine not slowing down quicker as compared to if it had no fuel being fed in with throttle closed. I have tried something similar with my 98 S3 while coasting down mountain roads by dialing down the idle speed to where it won't idle. This helps it slow down slightly quicker with the no/low idle adjustment as compared to normal idle speed. |

Would that 'small amount of fuel when coasting' explain why my XB9 pauses at 2000 rpm (for 1 or 2 seconds) when I roll off the throttle? FYI. the TPS has been reset, the pause is still there. |

Tpoppa, in a word no. What's happening to you is you idle is set just a wee bit high. Wee bit, turn it down a wee bit. Adjustment is made behind the airscoop on the left. Just a wee bit, the XBs are sensitive. |

Just a wee bit, now, not much, just a wee bit. |
