Did the demo ride at Sturgis. It is taller but doesn't matter much you just need to use one foot.
The gearing is a taller ratio compared to my XB9S which made the low speed throttle very responsive.
The leg room was vast compared to the Lightning and I kept forgetting that there was so much seat to change positions.
I don't think I will be trading my Lightning in on a Uly but there sure were a lot of Harley guys taking the ride and standing around after the ride talking with their hands. Buell could be selling second bikes to the HD crowd.

2 thumbs up!

Blackbelt...Too funny. At Sturgis, that sounds like a great way to lose a tooth or two. LOL

Sold two to dealers the first day at Sturgis. I got a call from Sturgis with a complete report last night.

The Ulysses is a hit!

Just got back! Passed on the Ulysses, would have had to wait too long anyway. Rode the Lightning Long, which is fantastic. Want one bad! I did notice a lot of BMW GS's there, and in fact, when I rode the Long, the guy on the Ulysses was a GS rider! This bodes very well for Buell.

The guy on the ride behind me was an old Harley guy that was looking at a GS but considering a XBX. Told him about the new belt and the testing I read about here on Badweb, he was impressed.
It is just stange seeing the big old Harley guys getting excited about the Uly.

Blackbelt, I think I saw your father in law. Did he have the straight pipes and a black T shirt? I am sure it was him!

It's pretty intimidating to me. A tall seat is no problem...a tall seat height and 450 pounds is. I'm on a tip toe with my other leg swung over the seat! If the wind blows too hard I'd fall over

Actually those boots would fit in at Sturgis!

Plenty of freaks here.
